Trust you’re doing well right?

It’s a sunny day here. How’s it over there?

I mentioned in my last post that I’ll be sharing deep thoughts on ICT and how you can leverage the internet to advance your life, business and aspirations.

That’s exactly what I’ll be doing in today’s post as well. I’ll take you further deeper into the gains of utilizing the digital revolution for your advantage.

Now that’s enough for an intro… Let’s dive into what we have here.

Alright! In my previous post, we discussed about why you should have a good grasp of ICT as an entrepreneur.

Let’s dig further…

So what are the benefits of adopting information and communication technology as a small business?

They are innumerable. Seriously. The number one reason for adopting information communication technology as an individual or a small business owner is that if you’re not doing this already, you’re ruining an outdated business.

Yeah. This is not me talking down on you. It’s about telling you the reality of business in the 21st century.

Now one of the archetypes of ICT that’s really ubiquitous and well known to everyone is the mobile phones.

I’m sure even a year old child understands what we mean by a phone. Alright. Let me throw in some stats so you can understand clearly.

Ok. So according to December 2016 evaluation, there are 7billion mobile phone users globally. This includes those with dual and single sim phone.

Coming down to Nigeria for instance, there are over 165 million mobile phone lines in Nigeria based on 2014 evaluations. This represents about 94 percent of the population on average.

Again, about 94 million people had access to the internet as at March 31st 2017.

But, what does this mean to you as a smart entrepreneur?

This means that over 90 percent of Nigerians have embraced the digital revolution and also keyed into it already.

It further means that unlike the brick and mortar market which is limited in time, space and location, the internet has provided what I’ll call a “virtual global village square”.

This “global village square ” has become like a fora where everyone all over the world can meet at one time or the other for whatever purpose. Talk about Facebook, Twitter, Google and the many other websites out there.

Ok. I don’t want to use the word “again “. But again, this digital revolution has given us the leverage to interact with people from any part of the world, 24 hours in a day.

You ask yourself, how exactly does this mobile phone stats affect me as a smart entrepreneur?

The number one way the proliferation of internet accessible phone affects you is that instead of coming to your office in Ikeja, a potential client can check out your website, find out what he wants to buy and place an order directly from Lekki and have the item delivered for him in his house.

You need another example?

Instead of traveling all the way from Paris to Lagos, an international client can Google up your business, get your email address and send you a direct email inquiring about your services in seconds. It’s happening almost every day.

I feel really pressed to write further. But because of space, let me share with you 8 most invaluable things you can gain when you key into the digital revolution as an entrepreneur.

1. Sell to anyone.
2. Get new clients.
3. Do business from any part of the world.
4. Cut costs.
5. Do business 24 hours.
6. Provide better customer service.
7. Set up a corporate presence online.
8. Hold virtual conferences, webinars or product launch with people from any part of the world, at the comfort of your office or even bedroom.

It’s not just a whole new world of possibilities with the digital revolution, it’s an era of having fun and being able to achieve a whole lot more without so much stress.

Now this is where I’ll stop for today. In my next post, I’ll dig deeper into all these benefits and explain everything in details. I’ll add up other benefits i skipped here.

Keep in touch.
